This will be the fourth UFC event contested in Manchester and first PPV event held in the European/Middle East market since UFC 112.

In order for the event to be broadcast live during Prime time hours on the east coast of North America, the main card is expected to begin at 3:00 am (October 9) local time in Manchester (GMT), with a full preliminary card beginning at approximately 11:00 pm (October 8) local time.

The event was expected to be headlined by a UFC Middleweight Championship fight between current champion Michael Bisping and the former Pride Welterweight, Pride Middleweight and former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Dan Henderson.
Michael Bisping withdrew citing injury/illness on Friday 07th October 2016. With such short notice the UFC has failed to find a replacement. The pairing met previously in July 2009 at UFC 100 with Henderson taking the victory via second round highlight reel knockout.

A bantamweight bout between Brad Pickett and Iuri Alcântara was previously linked to UFC Fight Night: Arlovski vs. Barnett. However, it is now expected to be contested at this event.

Ruslan Magomedov was expected to face Stefan Struve at this event, but pulled out on September 9 due to a staph infection. Struve will now face Daniel Omielańczuk

Arnold Allen was scheduled to face Mirsad Bektic at the event. However, Allen pulled out of the fight on 29 September for undisclosed reasons. Jeremy Kennedy was briefly linked as the replacement.Subsequently, just hours after his participation was publicly confirmed, Kennedy indicated he was injured and unable to fight.[13] Bektic will now face Russell Doane.

Reza Madadi was expected to face promotional newcomer Marc Diakiese at the event. However, Madadi pulled out of the fight in the week leading up to the event citing an eye injury and replaced by Łukasz Sajewski.

Ian Entwistle was scheduled to face Rob Font at the event. However on the day prior to the event, Entwistle fell ill during the weight cutting process and the bout was scrapped.

Danny Roberts is a 28-year-old welterweight fighter with a record of 11 wins and just one loss. He made his name fighting on OMMAC, in the Liverpool Olympia, before inking a deal to fight with Cage Warriors, where he tore through a stacked welterweight division and eventually caught the eye of the UFC.

An impressive knock-out victory over Jim Wallhead in the main event of Cage Warriors Fighting Championships 68, at the Liverpool ECHO Arena, impressed UFC officials enough for them to reward him with a contract to fight in the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion. He debuts this week on a card headlined by a women’s strawweight contest between Paige VanZant and Rose Namajunas.

Who will he fight?
Roberts was expected to fight unbeaten American Michael Graves, but the 24-year-old was forced to withdraw through injury.

Roberts is instead slated to face fellow newcomer Nathan Coy, who has a record of 14-5 and most recently fought in Bellator. Coy is a veteran, having fought big names such as Tyron Woodley, Brian Foster, Mike Pierce and Rick Story.
